About Dorean

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my website. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Dorean Pope. I have a wonderful husband and four beautiful daughters. I am a full time, stay at home mom and part time photographer. I grew up in Austin, Texas and now reside in San Marcos, Texas. 

Growing up, I never felt like I had an artistic bone in my body. My father is an artist and my brothers and sisters can draw and paint with ease. I never had this ability and would always joke that the artistic gene skipped me. That was until I bought a SLR camera for my husband. Unfortunately for him, and fortunately for me I LOVED taking pictures with it. Because of that camera, I found a new passion and an artistic outlet. 

Becoming a photographer was a slow process for me. I took classes while working full time (before I had any kiddos). I started in the wedding industry and realized shortly that my true passion was portrait photography. Child photography is something that I excel at because of my knack for working with kids, plus it is a lot of fun!
